Charles Dale Swingle

[OCT. 23, 2006]  Charles Dale Swingle, 78, of Lincoln passed away at 8:55 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Oct. 19, 2006.

Services will be on Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Dustin Fulton from Jefferson St. Christian Church will preside.  Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery.

Mr. Swingle was a laborer for Pittsburg Plate Glass and the box factory.  He was born to Clyde and Alma (Westerman) Swingle on Jan. 5, 1928 in Lincoln.  He married Dixie Smith on May 21, 1950.   She preceded him in death.

 Mr. Swingle is survived by one daughter, Doris (Vernon) Jones of Lincoln; two brothers, Roy Swingle and Vernon Swingle; one sister, Dorothy Bartels of Lincoln; six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers, one sister, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was a member of the National Guard.
