Dr. Ralph E. Mills

[OCT. 24, 2006]  Dr. Ralph E. Mills, 95, of Lincoln passed away at 9:25 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2006 at St. Clara’s Manor.

Visitation will be 5 – 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:45 p.m. on Friday at Fricke Calvert Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. A service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. R. Anthony Lee will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Dr. Mills was a retired dentist. He practice in Lincoln, Atlanta and Hopedale.

He was born to Edward and Grace Hilt Mills on Feb. 19, 1911 in Bloomington. He married Marjorie Martin. She preceded him in death in 1967.

He married Bernice Foutch on Feb. 14, 1969. She preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 1992.

Dr. Mills is survived by two sons, David (Sandy) Mills of East Peoria, John Cameron (Nancy) Mills of Springfield; two daughters, Susie (Jeff) Fults and Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” Keefe, both of Lincoln; one step-son, Joe (Mary Ann) Foutch of Dataw Island, South Carolina; also 12 grandchildren and 14 great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wives. He was the last of his immediate family.

Dr. Mills served in the U.S. Army as a captain in the Medical Corp in Europe.

He was a member of Holy Family Church, the American Legion Post #263, Lincoln Elks #914, Knights of Columbus and the American Dental Association.

Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church or the American Cancer Society.
