[SEPT. 11, 2006]  For the past 35 years, the Abraham Lincoln National Railsplitting Contest and Crafts Festival has been providing fun, family entertainment to the community. Now, as the event celebrates 36 years, the city of Lincoln has declared the annual Railsplitter Festival weekend in honor of this event.

The proclamation recognizes that many new events will take place this year and that the festival has been honored for its leadership in replicating, teaching and preserving our national heritage. A copy of the proclamation will be placed on file at City Hall with the best wishes for future successes in the festival.

Mayor Beth Davis will officially begin the 36th annual Abraham Lincoln National Railsplitting Contest and Crafts Festival by cutting the ribbon at the opening ceremonies on Saturday at 9 a.m.
