Redbirds up to No. 6 in Coaches Poll, still No. 7 in TSN

The Illinois State football team moved up three positions in the
College Sporting News Coaches Poll with a No. 6 ranking but
maintained its No. 7 ranking in The Sports Network I-AA Top 25 poll
after Saturday’s 18-3 victory over Central Arkansas at Hancock
Stadium.

The Redbirds are one of four teams from the Gateway Football
Conference ranked in the top 25 of both polls. Youngstown State is
No. 6 in The Sports Network poll but is No. 7, behind Illinois
State, in the CSN Coaches Poll. After Saturday’s loss to North
Dakota, Northern Iowa is now ranked No. 12 by The Sports Network and
No. 17 by the coaches. Southern Illinois is ranked No. 13 by the
coaches and sits at No. 16 in The Sports Network poll. Illinois
State returns to action Saturday night when the Redbirds host No.
18-ranked Eastern Illinois. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. [Pre-game
