Illinois Arborist Association to host tree program during the Abraham Lincoln National Railsplitting Contest and Crafts Festival          Send a link to a friend

[SEPT. 14, 2006]  The Illinois Arborist Association will host a tree program in conjunction with the Railsplitting Festival. If you're interested in learning more about trees, tree safety and tree climbing, come out to Memorial Park on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This event will be open to the public and is sponsored by Vermeer Corporation, Cedar Creek Tree Care and Dueco Bucket Trucks.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., followed by an aerial rescue demonstration at 10. The chipper safety demonstration by Vermeer Corporation will be at 11. The Lincoln Park District will provide lunch at noon. The program continues with the recreational tree climb from 1 to 4 p.m.

There will be no fee for the general public, although certified arborists wishing to use this program for continuing education units will be charged $10.
