Habitat for Humanity of Logan County hosts sixth annual recognition event          Send a link to a friend 

[SEPT. 30, 2006]  Habitat for Humanity of Logan County will have its sixth annual recognition dinner and dance on Oct. 14 at the American Legion Hall, 1740 Fifth St. in Lincoln. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 and the dance at 7. Ballroom music will be provided by the Turner Trio.

Two honorees will be recognized at this event.

William "Bill" Houghton, owner of Logan County Pest Control, will be honored for his donation to Habitat of the ground preparation treatment for pest control for each of the nine houses Habitat has constructed or rehabbed in Logan County.

Warren Grover, owner of Lighthouse Appraisal Services, will be recognized for his donation to Habitat of the appraisal work for all of the Habitat homes. The appraisal is used prior to contracts of sale to the new homeowners.

Tickets are $25 for the dinner and dance, or $10 for the dance only. Tickets may be purchased in advance at A.G. Edwards & Sons, MKS Jewelers or by calling 217-732-2861.

Proceeds from the dinner and dance will be applied toward Habitat's mission to provide simple, decent and affordable shelter to people lacking adequate housing.
