A day at the fair...
![click on photos below to enlarge]

Have you been to the fair yet? If you have driven by, you have probably caught the scent of some of the best livestock in Logan County. And if you have ever been down to the barns, you know we have some of the best kids in the state, who have worked long and hard to get the chance to showcase their talent. We are proud of you. Well done.

And if you noticed, we took a few photos of flowers today. They are quite stunning. Lots of artist talent. You need to browse through soon -- they won't hold up in this heat.

There are hundreds of things to see and do at the fair. Come out and chat with friends and support the best of the best in Logan County!

Grand champion hay and wheat bundle winner was Jerod Koch. How many times did you have to retie that wheat bundle to get it looking so nice?

Grand champion vegetable market basket winner was Rachel Skelton. Good job, Rachel!

Open Baking and Culinary Show has Connie Komnick of Springfield judging cream puff entries. I'd like to help on that one.

How cool is this? Ask fair buddies Brycen Hicks of Lincoln (left), Jordan Campbell of Bloomington (center) and Levi Curry of Lincoln (right), who are standing in front of a huge fan that has a garden hose connected that sprays a fine mist, keeping this trio cool.

Open Horse Show was on the program Wednesday morning, with these beauties looking for the "blue."

Grand champion "Cold Lunch," junior class winner was Hannah Crider. Way to go, Hannah!

Grand champion vivid color arrangement winner was Sara Laun. WOW. I'd like that delivered to my house.

4-H best herb gardening and 4-H home beautification winner was Kristin Bishop (nice trophy and plaque!)

The aerospace and model display has some very impressive entries this year. Check it out!

Mathew Runyon built this beautiful six-drawer oak dresser. Nice job, Matt!

Look at this one! Sam Opperman has a really nice Tractor I display that not only got him a first place but makes his entry a state fair delegate. Way to go!
