[August 18, 2007]  (AP) The remnants of Tropical Storm Erin were expected to bring significant rain and thunderstorms to west Texas on Saturday, and stormy weather was expected in parts of the Plains.

A few thunderstorms were expected in the Northeast, while scattered showers and thunderstorms were expected in the Southeast.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms were expected in parts of the northern Plains and Great Lakes, especially the Dakotas and Wisconsin. A line of thunderstorms was expected through Arkansas.

In the Northwest, scattered rain was expected in Washington and Oregon.

High temperatures were expected to rise into the 90s and 100s in both the Southeast and Southwest.

The highs in the Northeast were expected in the 60s, 70s and 80s. The Northwest was expected to reach into the 70s and 80s.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Friday ranged from a low of 32 degrees at Chemult, Ore. to a high of 119 degrees at Death Valley, Calif.
