Wheat leads grains, bean prices higher       Send a link to a friend

[August 23, 2007]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Wheat, corn and soybean prices jumped Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery surged 27.75 cents to settle at $7.3175 a bushel; December corn rose 9.25 cents to $3.6425 a bushel; December oats added 12 cents to $2.64 a bushel; November soybeans increased 16 cents to $8.47 a bushel.

Beef futures fell while pork futures ended mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle fell 0.93 cent to 95.47 cents a pound; September feeder cattle lost 0.72 cent to $1.1655 a pound; October lean hogs dropped 0.4 cent to 67.8 cents a pound; February pork bellies added 0.12 cent to 94.02 cents a pound.
