Environmental Education Association of Illinois to be represented at national conference          Send a link to a friend

[August 25, 2007]  URBANA -- Angela Smith, director of the Sugar Grove Nature Center in McLean, has agreed to serve a two-year term as the immediate past-president on board of directors of the Environmental Education Association of Illinois. She completed a two-year term as president of the board this spring.

Smith will represent Illinois at the North American Association for Environmental Education Conference in Virginia Beach, Va., in November.

By serving on the board, Smith will promote environmental education for the state of Illinois for formal and nonformal educators, including professional development opportunities.

The purpose of the Environmental Education Association of Illinois is to maintain a vital network that supports and advances quality environmental education throughout the state. The association currently has over 350 professional educators as members in Illinois. More information about the association is available at http://www.eeai.net/.
