Wheat prices surge on Chicago Board of Trade

[August 30, 2007]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Wheat prices surged Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery jumped 20.25 cents to $7.585 a bushel; December corn fell 4.5 cents to $3.4025 a bushel; December oats were flat at $2.5225 bushel; November soybeans added 2 cents to $8.7425 a bushel.

Beef futures rose and pork futures were mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle gained 0.45 cent to 98.05 cents a pound; September feeder cattle rose 0.25 cent to $1.187 a pound; October lean hogs fell 0.15 cent to 67.75 cents a pound; February pork bellies rose 0.57 cent to 91.57 cents a pound.
