Adalberto was driving. He failed to maintain control of the vehicle,
and it traveled off the roadway into the north ditch area. The
vehicle overturned in the ditch and came to rest on its driver's
side.
Christian B. Avitia was ejected from the vehicle.
Yolanda Avitia suffered life-threatening injuries and was
transported by Mason County Ambulance to Mason District Hospital in
Havana before being transferred to St. Francis Medical Center in
Peoria.
Adalberto Avitia complained of injury. He and Christian suffered
non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Mason District
Hospital by Mason County Ambulance.
Agencies assisting the Illinois State Police were the Mason
County Sheriff's Department, Mason County Ambulance, Easton Fire
Department and Illinois Department of Transportation.
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
