[December 05, 2007]  The Christian Village in Lincoln will host a special Santa's Workshop shopping day for children from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Located in the nursing home at 1507 Seventh St., Santa's Workshop is open for children ages 4-11 to shop for moms, dads, grandparents and other family members.

Each child may purchase up to five gifts, priced at just $1 each, with free wrapping service.

Christian Village staff members will be available to help children select gifts, and Mrs. Claus will serve cookies to the hungry shoppers.

"Kids have limited resources, but they still want to give a gift to their parents, grandparents, teachers, etc. We want to provide a way for them to learn that there is great joy in giving gifts, not just getting them," said Julie King, residential services director.

For more information about the children's shopping event, call Marcia Cook at 217-732-2189.
