Head coach Robin Pingeton On the game against Ball State:
"It was a tough night shooting for us. We had some good looks but
just couldn't seem to knock them down. I am really proud of the grit
and determination we played with."
On the defensive effort down low:
"I thought (sophomore forward) Ashleen Bracey did a great job,
especially in the first half. She had a tough matchup against Julie
DeMuth, who is a good player who can do a lot of things on the
court. At halftime we talked about focusing on her and locking her
up. We did a good job doing that with a perimeter player against
Eastern Michigan, and we needed to prove we could do that with a
post player. It was a tough matchup for Ashleen, but she did a
tremendous job on her. I told (sophomore center) Nicolle Lewis at
halftime to get more aggressive. Until she got an offensive foul, I
wanted her going strong to the basket. She did a great job staying
straight up and moving her feet defensively; and when she does that,
she is a tough player to shoot over. When she isn't held down by the
ticky-tack fouls, she is a force on the defensive end for us."
On the end of the semester approaching and the players having to
focus on games and academics:
"They have so much on their plates and so much going on this
week, with papers and tests. This was a tough road trip for us, and
I am so proud of our kids and how hard and unselfish they have been
playing."

On winning before the finals break:
"As coach Pingeton said, we have almost two weeks off, and we
wanted to lay everything out there tonight, get a win before the
break and finish off this road trip strong."
On her defensive effort:
"I always want to get quicker on defense and work hard down low.
I always try to be in good position and deny the post without
picking up fouls, and block shots."
On the team's defensive effort:
"Keeping Ball State from shooting the ball well was definitely a
good feeling. We are all about rebounding and defense, and we want
to keep it that way for the rest of the season."
