LCHS Music Department Presents “Ye Olde Madrigal Dinner”

[December 08, 2007]  Step back in time and celebrate the season while enjoying theatre and the music of times past as the Lincoln Community High School Music Department presents “Ye Olde Madrigal Dinner” Dec. 9, 10 and 11.

Performances will take place at the Maple Club, 1458 State Route 121 east of Lincoln and are December 9 at 2:30 p.m., and December 10 and 11 at 6:30 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before each performance.

Tickets for the December 9 performance include dessert only and cost $15. Tickets for the December 10 and 11 performances include dinner and cost $25 for adults or $22 for senior citizens and children under 12.

Kim Peterson-Quinn directs the show and is assisted by Alaina Marth.

Cast members include: Kelly Knecht (Jester); Jaci Gandenberger (Wench); Taylor Muck (King); Annie Sheley (Queen); Trevor Arrington (Prince); Rebecca Kasa (Princess); Ryan Brown (Swineherd); William Grover (Brave Sir Robyn); Silas Tockey (The Cut Purse); Nichole Benz (The Damsel); Ethan Plumier (Sir Cad); Ben Rekart (Sir Guy); Karolyn White and Lorenda Kirby (Singing Minstrels); Kristin Brisbin, Brittany Reves, Toni Chapman and Heather Meisenbach (The Royal Courtiers); and Kate Harmon, Emily Harms and Candice Cabit (Madrigal Manners Wenches).

Serving wenches for the program are: Shelby Brown, Lindsey Canady, Abigail Diedrich, Krystal Hanlen, Linda Henne, Cassandra Hopper, Bethany Last, Allaniee Ramlow, Samantha Russell, Liz Smith, Stormee Whitney, Amanda Wilham and Tiffany Wilham.

David Swaar is instrumental music director, Julie Kasa is the accompanist and Brittney McLaughlin is choreographer. Madrigal brass ensemble players are Britta Larson, Sam Chon, Kelsey Dallas, David Fulton and Orry Ingram. Bill Ryan is the guitarist.

Madrigal dinners are a form of dinner theater held during the Christmas season and are generally set in the Middle Ages. The meal is divided into courses and skits of a comedic nature are performed between the courses. In addition, a mix of medieval and renaissance period choral music is included.

The entrée for the dinner performances is roasted pork loin and pumpkin cake will be served for dessert.
