Wheat Surges on CBOT; Livestock Is Mixed

[December 08, 2007]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Futures for agricultural products rallied sharply Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for March delivery rose 30 cents, the daily market limit permitted by the exchange, to close at $9.215 a bushel; March corn added 5.25 cents to $4.1725 a bushel; March oats edged up 1.25 cents to $2.8025 a bushel; January soybeans jumped 21 cents to $11.1975 a bushel.

Beef futures finished mixed, and pork futures increased on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

February live cattle rose 0.58 cent to 96.75 cents a pound; January feeder cattle fell 0.4 cent to $1.0595 a pound; February lean hogs rose 0.5 cent to 61.7 cents a pound; February pork bellies rose 1.07 cents to 91.32 cents a pound.
