Wheat Prices Surge Higher on CBOT

[December 13, 2007]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agricultural futures advanced sharply Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for March delivery rose 30 cents, the daily limit permitted by the exchange, to settle at $9.405 a bushel; March corn added 9 cents to $4.33 a bushel; March oats rose 3.25 cents to $2.9475 a bushel; January soybeans gained 14.5 cents to $11.50 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures declined on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

February live cattle dipped 0.43 cent to 96.82 cents a pound; January feeder cattle fell 0.82 cent to $1.0515 a pound; February lean hogs dropped 1.32 cents to 61.7 cents a pound; February pork bellies lost 2.2 cents to 89.6 cents a pound.
