The varsity team was led by the double wins of Cameron Kurtz in
impromptu and extemporaneous, Janel Filbeck in oratory and
declamation, and Todd Schumacher in dramatic interpretation.
Individual tournament champions were Annie Sheley in radio speaking,
Kaylyn Engelhardt and Kelly Knecht in humorous duet, and Taylor Muck
in verse. Second place was notched by Annie Sheley in special
occasion speaking, Cody Follis in prose reading, and Taylor Muck and
Stephanie Holford in humorous duet. Kaylyn Engelhardt and Cody
Follis were third in dramatic duet, Kelly Knecht third in special
occasion, and Stephanie Holford was third in humorous
interpretation. Other varsity finalists were Rebecca Kasa, fourth in
radio, and Emily Harms and Trevor Arrington, sixth in humorous duet.

Many team members advanced to the semifinals but not the finals
in their events. Those contestants were Rebecca Kasa, Lorenda Kirby,
Heather Meisenbach, Katy Langdon, Abby Parmenter, Jairris Vermeire
and Raeann Sheley.
Novice finalists were Katy Langdon, first in dramatic
interpretation and third in verse; Abby Parmenter, third in special
occasion and fourth in declamation; Nicole Fenner and Cheyenne
Duncan, fifth in dramatic duet; Emily Harms, second in original
comedy; and Trevor Arrington, fifth in extemporaneous.
The team is off until Jan. 12, when they travel down the road to
the Link Heyworth Tournament, named in honor of retired coach Connie
Link.
