Dense Fog to Continue Across Central Illinois Today

[December 21, 2007]  A dense fog advisory is now in effect until 4 p.m. Friday for the counties of Knox, Stark, Peoria, Marshall, Woodford, Fulton, Tazewell, McLean, Schuyler, Mason, Logan, DeWitt, Piatt, Champaign, Vermilion, Cass, Menard, Scott, Morgan, Sangamon, Christian, Macon, Moultrie, Douglas, Coles, Edgar, Shelby, Cumberland, Clark, Effingham, Jasper, Crawford, Clay, Richland and Lawrence, including the cities of Galesburg, Peoria, Bloomington, Normal, Havana, Lincoln, Champaign, Urbana, Danville, Jacksonville, Springfield, Taylorville, Decatur, Charleston, Mattoon, Shelbyville, Effingham, Flora and Lawrenceville.

Dense fog, with visibilities to a quarter mile or less at times, will continue across the area into Friday afternoon. Conditions may gradually improve during mid- or late afternoon.

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one-quarter mile. If driving, slow down. Use your low-beam headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
