An Act Concerning: Public Employee Benefits

Description: Amends the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Article of the Illinois Pension Code.

Action: Veto

Bill No.: HB 0822

An Act Concerning: Regulation

Description: Amends the Coal Mining Act. Among other provisions, implements safety recommendations made by the Mine Technology Task Force to the Illinois State Mining Board. Mandates that certain safety and rescue equipment to aid endangered coal miners be provided, including self-contained self-rescuer devices.

Action: Approved

Effective Date: Effective Immediately

Bill No.: HB 3752

An Act Concerning: Employment

Description: Amends the Minimum Wage Law. Requires an employer to pay not less than the full minimum wage to a day or temporary laborer who is 18 years of age or older and to an employee who is 18 years of age or older and whose employment is occasional or irregular and requires not more than 90 days to complete.

Action: Approved

Effective Date: July 1, 2007

An Act Concerning: Regulation

Description: Amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934.

An Act Concerning: Local Government

Description: Amends the Counties Code regarding fees charged by sheriffs in third class counties. Also provides that specific fees collected by sheriffs in third class counties must be used for public safety purposes.

An Act Concerning: Education

Description: Repeals certain sections of the School Code that are unnecessary, obsolete or duplicate another provisions. Eliminates references to grant programs that were funded by either the state or federal government in previous fiscal years, and deletes references to committees, divisions and provisions within the Code no longer active at the State Board.

Action: Approved

An Act Concerning: Local Government

Description: Among other amendments, modifies the Municipal Code. Modifies the municipal code to permit a sanitary district to physically connect to a municipality via easements purchased or obtained from willing conveyors.
