[DEC. 29, 2006]  MINIER -- John Wayne Howerton, 35, of Minier died at 6:45 a.m. on Dec. 24, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center/ICU.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Bennett Funeral Home. A service is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at Bennett Funeral Home. Pastor Kirk Walker will preside.

Burial will be in Minier Cemetery.

Mr. Howerton was a truck driver for Walter’s Trucking

He was born to Ray L. Howerton and Patricia A. (Palmer) Duncan on November 16, 1971 in Lincoln. He married Melanie (Barnes) Howerton on April 8, 2005 in McLean County.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie Howerton of Minier; parents Patricia and Billy Duncan of Lincoln; six children, Desirae Howerton, Jordan Howerton, Justin Howerton and Deidra Howerton of Jacksonville, Sierra Howerton and Devlin Barnes of Minier; three sisters, Rayann Earley of Ste. Marie, Betina (Carlos) Bryant of Bloomingotn, Jayne Duncan of Springfield; two brothers: Richard (Lori) Howerton of Normal and Daniel (Brenda) Howerton of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father.

Mr. Howerton was an army veteran.

Memorials may be made to the family of John W. Howerton.
