Richard B. Rawlings

[DEC. 30, 2006]  Richard B. Rawlings, 82, of Lincoln passed away at 2:57 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2006 at Maple Ridge Health Care Center.

There is no visitation.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 2 p.m. at Lawndale Cemetery. Bill Degan will preside. Full military rites will be accorded.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mr. Rawlings was a retired swine breeder for Gehlbach Pork Association, Lincoln.

He was born to James Edwin and Belvia L. Hicks Rawlings on June 23, 1924 in Jacksonville. He married Prascilla “Jayne” Dial on Dec. 16, 1945 in Springfield.

He is survived by his wife Jayne of Lincoln; two daughters, Georgia “Bridgette (Daniel) Alverson of Oklahoma City and June Ann (Ronald) Frank of Mason City; two brothers, Edwin J. Rawlings and Frank E. Rawlings, both of Springfield. He had seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Terry Lance Rawlings and Christav Gregory Rawlings; one brother, Robert Allen Rawlings and one sister Edith Marine Roloff.

Mr. Rawlings was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and WWII.

He was a member of Holy Family Church and belonged to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Memorials may be made to Maple Ridge Health Care Center of Lincoln.
