County coordinator resigns       Send a link to a friend

[JAN. 12, 2007]  At Thursday night's board-of-the-whole meeting, Logan County Board Chairman Dick Logan read a letter of resignation from the county coordinator.

Text of letter:

This is to inform you that I am resigning my position as County Coordinator. I will be returning to the private sector.

I have not set a specific date for departure. It is my desire to work with you and the board in establishing a transition period that will benefit the board, the citizens of Logan County and my successor.

It was an honor to be selected to this position, two years ago, from a field of 70 applicants. I feel the previous board made the correct decision in pursuing full time administration support.

It has been a pleasure working with the county leadership on the various projects and initiatives over these past two years. May the momentum continue.

Sincerely,

Dewey R. Colter

We regretfully accept Mr. Colter's resignation, Logan said.

He said that he would announce at Tuesday's meeting to adjourn that meeting to the following Tuesday in order for the board to take action on what to do about the coordinator position. This issue and the county audit would be discussed at the Jan. 23 meeting, he said. He charged the board members to be thinking on the matter and to bear in mind the financial condition that the county is in.
