Wayne Luckhart

[JAN. 18, 2007]  A memorial service for Wayne Luckhart has been scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Tim Searby officiating.

Immediately following the service, the family will meet with friends and relatives at the American Legion of Lincoln for food and fellowship.

Mr. Luckhart, 86, of Lincoln died Dec. 19, 2006, at the Christian Village.

He retired as maintenance supervisor at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital after 38 years. He was also a retired farmer

He was born Aug. 21, 1920, in Cornland to Rupert and Emma Bohn Luckhart. He married Dorothy Aeilts on Sept. 21, 1941, in St. Charles, Mo.

He is survived by two sons, Rod W. (and Catherine) Luckhart of Naperville and Rick Luckhart of Springfield; one brother, Perry Luckhart of Lincoln; three sisters, Roberta Whiteside of Lincoln, Octavia (and Fred) Augspurger of Lincoln and Sharon (and Gary) Rohlfs of Lincoln; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leland, Wally and Dallas Luckhart; and one sister, Hilda Matlock.

He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 2708 and Tri-Police Association.

Memorials may be made to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation, American Red Cross, Alzheimer's disease research or Parkinson's Foundation.
