[JAN.
25, 2007]
Lincoln Park District is cooking up some fun,
and we mean that quite literally. It's a program just for the guys,
and we will feature everyday cooking skills. This four-week course
will meet on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 in the kitchen at the Rec
Center. Jan. 29, lesson one will be about making soups. Week two
will involve dishes from Mexico, Italy and Ireland. Week three will
feature entrees that are out of the box. Week four will be the class
members' choice. Cost for the Men In The Kitchen series is $35. Roy
Logan, a veteran of the restaurant industry, will be the instructor.
We encourage you to preregister because class size will be limited.

Did you get a digital camera for Christmas, or have you had one for
a while and still have questions? Stephen Klemm, owner of Picture
This Photography, will be our instructor. This course is four weeks
and will be on Thursday evenings at 7, beginning Feb. 1. Class is
designed for the beginner to the intermediate, or anyone interested
in using your digital camera to the fullest of its ability. The
digital camera class will open with how to take better photographs.
Following weeks will address the best settings for your camera,
computer printer and software. Stephen will also cover making
calendars, cards and fun, whimsical projects. Week four will
culminate with the high tech of special effects, e-mail and slide
shows. Each class is approximately 1½ hours or more, and everyone
should bring their camera. Cost is $50 in district and $62.50 out of
district. We welcome Jon Leisinger back to our tennis courts. Jon
was our tennis instructor this past summer. His four-week session
starts on Feb. 4. We'll begin with kindergarten through second grade
at 1-1:45 p.m., then third through fifth from 2 to 3 p.m., and sixth
grade and up at 3-4 p.m. From the beginners to the more advanced Jon
enjoys working with young people. We will provide the tennis balls,
and participants will need to wear tennis shoes and bring their
rackets. Cost is $30 in district and $37.50 out of district.
