LCHS speech team: outstanding individual showings in home invitational; public performance set for Thursday; regionals Saturday          Send a link to a friend

[JAN. 29, 2007]  The Lincoln Community High School speech team ended its regular season by hosting its own Lincoln Invitational. While the host team did not compete for team sweepstakes, the team was led by numerous outstanding individuals. Tournament champions for Lincoln were Tony Curcuru and Lincoln Moore, first in humorous duet acting; Lincoln Moore, first in original comedy; Hannah Snyder, first in extemporaneous speaking; and Cameron Kurtz, first in impromptu speaking.

Other LCHS finalists:
  • Tony Curcuru and Kaylyn Englehardt, second in dramatic duet acting

  • Cody Follis and Rebecca Kasa, sixth in dramatic duet acting

  • Taylor Muck, second in humorous interpretation

  • Stephanie Holford, fourth in humorous interpretation

  • Stephanie Holford and Todd Schumacher, third in humorous duet acting

  • Hannah Snyder, sixth in impromptu speaking

  • Taylor Muck, fifth in original comedy

  • Annie Sheley, second in declamation

  • Janel Filbeck, second in oratory

  • Brittany Reves, fifth in oratory

  • Cameron Kurtz, third in special occasion speaking

The speech team will have its annual "Meet the Regional Team" night on Thursday at 6:30 in the auditorium. The 13 regional entry events and performance in the round will showcase their events for the public.

The team will travel to Chatham for the IHSA regional on Saturday.
