[July 02, 2007]
After a very successful event this past spring,
CIEDC is announcing to the community and Parrot Heads to save the
date of March 8, 2008. The event will be at the Knights of Columbus
Hall, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and cheeseburgers served for all.

The second annual Cheeseburger in Paradise event will once again
feature Gary Sluhan from St. Louis, who has perfected the sounds of
Jimmy Buffett. Sluhan had the crowd singing along all evening and
received rave reviews at the first event, in March this year. The
Cheeseburger in Paradise event will again feature a live auction and
raffles.
Funds raised will be used to assist the senior programs at CIEDC,
as the Community Action agency works to provide delivered meals,
congregate meals and transportation to the 60 and older populations
of Mason and Logan counties.
Cheeseburger in Paradise night is made possible by volunteers and
the support of local companies and the community. Tickets will be on
sale to the public in January 2008 for $25 per person.

"The success of the first Cheeseburger in Paradise fundraiser has
set the bar high for our second annual event. We look forward to
another fun evening!" said Angela Stoltzenburg, CIEDC executive
director. "The senior programs are doing better than ever
financially, and we really need to keep that momentum going as fuel
prices and demand for services continue to rise."
