SPRINGFIELD -- If guitarist Joe Walsh wasn't
enough of a draw in his own right, legendary rock band Grand Funk
Railroad has been signed to open the Aug. 18 show at the Illinois
State Fair Grandstand.

The latest addition to an already
diverse and entertaining 2007 Illinois State Fair entertainment
lineup, Grand Funk Railroad has enjoyed success with hit singles
such as "We're an American Band," "Locomotion" and "Some Kind of
Wonderful." Since its initial breakthrough in 1969, Grand Funk has
charted more than 30 times on U.S. album and singles charts, and its
1998 tour was one of the top grossing tours of the year.
Tickets for Joe Walsh and Grand Funk Railroad are $22 in all
seating areas, including the track, and can be purchased at
www.ticketmaster.com and at Ticketmaster phone centers at
1-800-827-8927. They can also be purchased at the Grandstand ticket
office, located on Grandstand Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday
through Friday. After July 9, the Grandstand ticket office also will
be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
