Coy's Car Corner opening doors on Saturday as Lincoln Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep           Send a link to a friend

[July 13, 2007]  Coy Hutchcraft and Scott Soebbing, co-owners of Coy's Car Corner, were joined by Dan Row on Thursday afternoon in announcing the sale of the Row Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealership. Final papers on the business transaction were being signed Friday (today). The dealership official opens as Lincoln Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep at 103 Taylor Court on Saturday morning.

Both Hutchcraft and Soebbing say that they are relying on what has made their business a success so far: "repeat business and word of mouth." The only change in the business is the addition of the new vehicles. Hutchcraft said that when he and Soebbing built at their current location in Lincoln's west-side business district a couple of years ago it was with the intention of adding a new-car dealership.

One thing the new owners are excited about is that there isn't another car dealership with the name Lincoln.

What attracted them to this dealership, Hutchcraft said, is that Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep "are the nicest looking vehicles on the market."

Coy's owners approached Row in January to see if he would be interested in selling the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealership. Row agreed to sell, and action began in April. Coy's proceeded in getting factory approval. It was basically a lot of paperwork, the owners said.

Coy's Car Corner has been selling pre-owned cars and will continue to do that. "We have nothing but the nicest pre-owned vehicles," Hutchcraft said. Coy's pre-owned cars are trade-ins that are acquired from a select base of new-car dealers in Illinois, Indiana and Missouri.

He and Soebbing have been partners for the past 11 years. Hutchcraft has 33 years of car sales experience and Soebbing 27 years.

Shoring up that bevy of experience will be Dan Row, a second-generation car guy bringing 56 years of experience, and Mark Graue, also from a multigeneration family car business, adding 35 years of experience.

Row will be the new car sales manager. He will be dividing his time between closing out business at his old location and working at Coy's for the next month or two, and then become full-time at Coy's.

Graue will be the new business manager. He will handle financing.

One important requirement of the dealership was to have an approved service department. Coy's already had a maintenance and repair shop in place. The only change for them is to expand their employee base.

The Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep service department opens Monday morning. As the only authorized Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep in Lincoln and Logan County, the shop will offer warranty work. You will only need to call for an appointment, Hutchcraft said. Their number is 217-732-1661.

"We plan to keep everything the same as we've done it," Hutchcraft said. Our goal has been and will continue to be "customer satisfaction," he said.
