[July 16, 2007]  CIEDC and Lincoln Kiwanis hosted summer day camp for low-income children June 18-22. The children enjoyed a variety of fun-filled and educational activities due to the coordination of activities by CIEDC staff and the generous donations by the Kiwanis and other local businesses and individuals.

The children took pleasure each day in the theme-filled activities provided, including "Meeting City Leaders Day," the "Historic Walk in Abe Lincolns Shoes Day," "Splashdown Water Park Day," "Bowl Your Head Off Day" at Logan Lanes and "Lazy Day." All meals and drinks were provided for the children, as well as prizes, games, crafts and other fun activities.

"The children all had a great time this year at summer day camp," said Darla Buss, co-coordinator and CIEDC staff member. "I think it was the best ever. There was plenty of fun and learning activities for the kids to enjoy."
