As part of their first "Great
Place That Gives" campaign, employees at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital have donated more than 500 pounds of food and personal
hygiene items to the Logan County Food Pantry.

the second truckload of donations going to the Logan County Food
Pantry included Kaylee Tanner, Judy Hamrick, Janell Woolard and
Jennifer Humphres.
Additional items were donated by employees of Family Medical
Center and Lincoln Health Care Specialists.
The giving campaign was initiated by the hospital's Employee
Activity Committee, a group that typically coordinates employee
recognition and celebration events. A food drive was suggested by
dietary manager and committee member Jennifer Steele since food
pantry stocks run low in the summer when children are not receiving
breakfast and lunch at their schools.
"ALMH is very grateful for all the support they have received
from the community through the years," said Janell Woolard,
chairwoman of the committee. "Holding a food drive that ultimately
supports the daily needs of people in our community just seems like
a great way to give back."

Employees were encouraged to bring their donations to the ALMH
Cafe during the week of July 9. It took three trips to deliver the
food and other items to the Logan County Food Pantry.
The next employee giving project is a school supply drive and
distribution Aug. 9 and 10. Families seeking school supply
assistance through ALMH should first apply through the CIEDC office
at 1800 Fifth St. before Aug. 3. (See
article.)
ALMH is a not-for-profit critical-access hospital serving the
general health care needs of people throughout Logan and eastern
Mason counties.
