FLASH FLOOD WATCH:

The National Weather Service office in Lincoln has issued a flash flood watch for central Illinois, including Logan County, effective until Thursday morning. Clusters of storms will move across the area throughout the night.

Monitor NWS or commercial radio or TV for changes in this situation.

The 2 p.m. briefing with the NWS-Lincoln established a probable timeline for Wednesday night's possible severe weather.

The first line of storms should arrive over the Interstate 74 corridor between 11 p.m. and midnight. The primary threat appears to be severe straight-line winds in the 60-70 mph category and heavy rains. It appears that the storms will stay north of Logan County, but the rain may affect our streams.

The second line of storms should arrive about 1-2 a.m. Again, wind and heavy rain will be the problem. This line may extend into Logan County in the early morning.

Everyone should monitor radio and TV as these storms develop and the time frame changes.
