SPRINGFIELD -- Author Peter Davidson will
present a seminar, "How to Write a Children's Picture Book," at
Lincoln Land Community College on Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This
seminar is for anyone interested in writing or illustrating
children's picture books for possible publication.

Topics that will be
presented are "Definition of a Children's Picture Book," "Developing
an Idea," "Plotting the Book," "Writing the Book," "Illustrating the
Book," "Typing the Manuscript," "Copyrighting Your Work," "Locating
Potential Publishers," "Marketing Your Work" and "Contract Terms."
Davidson has authored 23 books, including eight children's picture
books, and has had many other types of works published. He has been
published by McGraw-Hill Book Company, Perigee/Putnam Publishers,
Haworth Press and others. His latest book is a novel, "Okoboji."
Davidson has presented over 500 seminars for writers across the
country and has appeared on over 85 radio and television programs.
The trademark of his seminars is that they are practical --
participants will receive a great deal of information that is useful
and can be put into practice.
