[July 21, 2007]  (AP) Forecasters predicted showers and thunderstorms in the Southeast, Pacific Northwest and parts of Montana and North Dakota on Saturday.

Especially strong thunderstorms with high winds were expected in parts of Florida as precipitation moves through the South.

In the West, light to moderate rain with scattered thunderstorms was expected from northwestern California across the Pacific Northwest. The heaviest rain was expected in western Washington.

Elsewhere, showers and thunderstorms were expected in the Four Corners and parts of the California deserts, with some producing strong wind gusts.

Isolated storms were also expected in northeastern Montana and North Dakota.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Friday ranged from a low of 35 in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., to a high of 116 degrees at Death Valley, Calif.
