Slurry and seal coat of city streets continues           Send a link to a friend

[July 28, 2007]  From the city of Lincoln's engineer and street departments:

The following is a list of the remaining streets slated for slurry seal work:
  1. Chicago Street from Decatur Street to Wyatt Avenue

  2. Chicago Street from Decatur Street to Clinton Street (patch work areas)

  3. Lincolnwood Avenue

  4. Railsplitter Avenue

  5. Heritage Avenue

  6. Sangamon Street from Broadway Street to Pulaski Street

  7. Sangamon Street from Pulaski Street to Clinton Street

  8. Patch work and repairs on streets previously slurry sealed

[to top of second column]

In the Lincolnwood subdivision and the two blocks of Sangamon Street, the slurry seal will be applied half the width of the street at a time to allow limited traffic and access to the respective areas. We ask that residents in these areas look for workers, barricades and temporary "No Parking" signs that will precede the slurry sealing process.

New slurry seal is tender for up to 36 hours after application. Please do not drive or park on these areas until barricades are removed.

Additionally, starting on Monday, the city street department will begin the annual seal coat program, covering numerous streets and alleys throughout the city.
