Three-day Rookie Cooks workshop for kids offered next week          Send a link to a friend

[June 05, 2007]  Rookie Cooks classes will be available June 11-13 for ages 10-13, with afternoon sessions offered 1:30-4. Topics to be covered will include cooking basics, menu planning, manners, kitchen equipment and care, and kitchen safety. During the three days, the participants will make a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.

Cost of the classes will be $20 per participant. Scholarships are available for those who meet guidelines for free and reduced-price lunches.

A maximum of 10 participants per session will be accepted. Registration materials are available at the 4-H office on a first-come, first-served basis. If interested, register as soon as possible at the Logan County Extension office, 217-732-8289. The deadline is 4:30 p.m. Friday.
