Registration opens for Raptor Camp          Send a link to a friend

[June 11, 2007]  DECATUR -- Registration is open to children ages 11-14 for Raptor Camp at the Illinois Raptor Center. One camp will be June 18-22, and a second camp will be July 23-27. Both camps will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day in the IRC Outdoor Classroom Pavilion.

Each day of camp will feature a different family of raptors up close and personal through live birds of prey -- hawks, falcons, owls and eagles. Participants will learn about natural history, rehabilitation, habitat and falconry. The last day of camp, participants will present a program at noon for their family and friends, using live raptors.

The cost is $100 per child, which includes T-shirt, pictures, materials, snacks and an experience of a lifetime. Registration is limited to 20 participants per camp.

To register, contact the IRC at 217-963-6909 or barnowl@illinoisraptorcenter.org.
