Cops have run-in with 'masked intruder'   Send a link to a friend

[June 19, 2007]  RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Police had a brief run-in early Monday with a masked intruder who was threatening employees of a convenience store. But instead of a gun-toting robber, this intruder was a raccoon on a rampage.

When police arrived, the raccoon went after one of them, forcing the officer to dodge the animal.

Things got messy in a hurry as the officers tried to round up the rummaging raccoon. Some items in the store were knocked off the shelves, and one officer described it as quite a mess.

The raccoon finally found the door and made its getaway.
