[June 22, 2007]  (AP) Low-pressure systems were expected to cause thunderstorms in the Southern Plains and Southeast on Friday. The West was expected to remain generally clear.

Storms were forecast throughout Texas and Oklahoma and into the Mississippi Delta. Coastal flooding was possible in the Mid-Atlantic, and showers and cloudy skies were forecast for much of the East Coast.

Skies were expected to remain mostly clear over the West, though temperatures were dropping. Coastal fog was possible by the end of the day, and cloud cover was expected to move into the Northwest. Showers were possible in the foothills of the Cascades.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Thursday ranged from a low of 28 degrees at Leadville, Colo., to a high of 120 degrees at Death Valley, Calif.
