Police seek vandals in vehicles

[June 27, 2007]  Lincoln police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying and arresting those responsible for the numerous incidents of vandalism to vehicles, residences and business windows over the past week. The Lincoln Police Department has taken over 30 reports of criminal damage to property

Citizens can assist by doing the following:
  • Watch for suspicious vehicles or individuals:

    • Vehicles driving slowly past residences

    • Vehicles repeatedly driving past residences

    • Vehicles with windows down with occupants hanging out or pointing weapons from within

  • Watch out for your neighbors' property.

  • Check your vehicles frequently throughout the day and evening for damage.

  • Park vehicle off the street when possible.

  • Report any suspicious individuals, vehicles or activity to the Lincoln Police Department.

    • Obtain vehicle description: color, make, model, year.

    • Obtain vehicle registration (license plate) number.

    • Identify direction of travel.

    • Identify number of occupants and physical description of each, including clothing.
