Wind advisory continues until 4 p.m. Friday

[March 02, 2007]  Strong west winds will continue Friday as a deep low-pressure area moves northeast across Wisconsin. Sustained speeds of 25 to 35 mph will be common, along with gusts to 45 mph.

A wind advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. Friday for the counties of Knox, Stark, Peoria, Marshall, Woodford, Fulton, Tazewell, McLean, Schuyler, Mason, Logan, DeWitt, Piatt, Champaign, Vermilion, Cass, Menard, Scott, Morgan, Sangamon, Christian, Macon, Moultrie, Douglas, Coles, Edgar, Shelby, Cumberland, Clark, Effingham, Jasper, Crawford, Clay, Richland and Lawrence, including the cities of Galesburg, Peoria, Bloomington, Normal, Havana, Lincoln, Champaign, Urbana, Danville, Jacksonville, Springfield, Taylorville, Decatur, Charleston, Mattoon, Shelbyville, Effingham, Flora and Lawrenceville.

A wind advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph are expected, with gusts to 45 mph. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
