SHG to host Summer Escape enrichment camp and athletic camps          Send a link to a friend

[May 10, 2007]  SPRINGFIELD -- Again this summer, Sacred Heart-Griffin High School will host its middle-school summer enrichment camp, Summer Escape.

Summer Escape is open to all students entering grades 5-8 for the 2007-2008 school year. The camp will be June 11-15. Session times are 8-10 a.m., 10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.

Classes will be taught by teachers from SHG; Lincoln High School; Lutheran High School; and St. Joe's, Little Flower and Cathedral grade schools in a safe and supervised environment. This is the third year for SHG's Summer Escape.

This year's classes include Hip Hop Dance, Forensics, Fashion, Scrapbooking, Fiction into Film, Baking, Creative Writing, Newspaper, Ceramics and Mask Making, to name a few. A social and open house for all students and their parents will be 3-5 p.m. on June 15. Students will showcase their talents and art from the week.

SHG will also host basketball, football, cheerleading, pompon and soccer camps throughout the summer and the school year for various age levels.
