'Glimpses of Lincoln, Illinois: An Inside Look at Abraham Lincoln's
Namesake City Nestled Along Route 66'

DATELINE -- Local resident Jan Schumacher has
published a book entitled "Glimpses of Lincoln, Illinois: An Inside
Look at Abraham Lincoln's Namesake City Nestled Along Route 66." The
155-page book includes Schumacher's newspaper columns about the
city's Abraham Lincoln and Route 66 history. The columns also
feature noteworthy residents and highlight positive happenings in
town.

Paul Beaver, professor emeritus at Lincoln College, has written the
foreword. "‘Glimpses' provides a heartwarming look at the city
which current and former residents will enjoy," Schumacher said.
"It's also ideal for visitors who wish to know more about our
community."
Schumacher's book is available at Prairie Years, and next
Saturday at Penache Boutique, Beans and Such, Mustard Moon, Mary
Todd Hallmark, and the Information Station operated by the Abraham
Lincoln Tourism Bureau and Lincoln/Logan Chamber of Commerce. The
book is also listed on eBay.
Selling price of the book is $14.95. A portion of the proceeds
will be donated to the Route 66 Association of Logan County, the
group working to restore The Mill.
