[November 05, 2007]  Seniors aged 60 or better in Mason County have a new lunch option beginning today (Monday). CIEDC has partnered with the Mason City Area Nursing Home, located at 520 N. Price St. in Mason City, to establish a new social lunch site.

CIEDC provides home-delivered and congregate meal programs in both Logan and Mason counties. The new site is the first step of many new CIEDC initiatives to encourage more senior involvement in Mason County through the nutrition program.

"We are excited to work with Mason City Area Nursing Home in Mason City. They are great partners. We already work with them to assist in meal delivery in Mason City and look forward to providing seniors with this new option," said Angie Jenkins, senior programs director.

Any interested seniors can contact CIEDC, 217-732-2159, to sign up to participate in the Monday through Friday lunch service. They should talk to Angie Jenkins, ext. 242, or Kalyn Berglin, ext. 240.

There is a suggested donation of $3 per meal.

CIEDC is a Community Action agency serving six central Illinois counties with a variety of social service programs. For more information, visit www.ciedc.org.
