[November 07, 2007]  Larry A. Boggs, 29, of Mansfield, Ohio, was the single occupant in a single-vehicle crash north of Lincoln at 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Boggs was driving a white 2006 Chevrolet Express van labeled "Panther Express" northbound on Interstate 55 near milepost 130, Nicholson Road. Witnesses said that Boggs' vehicle traveled into the center median. As the vehicle re-entered the northbound roadway, he failed to maintain control and the vehicle began to rotate counterclockwise. His vehicle then traveled off the roadway into the center median and rolled over two to three times sideways. The vehicle came to rest facing south, partially on the southbound left shoulder and in the left lane.

In the process Boggs was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Logan County Paramedics.

His body was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, where an autopsy has been scheduled.

Agencies assisting the Illinois State Police at the scene were the Logan County Sheriff's Department, Logan County Paramedic Association, Lincoln Rural Fire Department, Logan County coroner's office and the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
