[November 12, 2007]  The CIEDC Head Start at 2018 N. Kickapoo St. will host an open house Tuesday from 2 to 6 p.m. Families and community members are invited to come and see how Head Start is "Teaching Minds of Tomorrow, Touching Lives of Today." Children's artwork will be on display and there will be activities for those who attend.

The open house is a great time for families and members of the community to visit the classroom and see just what CIEDC Head Start offers to children and families. Staff members will be available to answer any questions that families may have about the program.

"This year we have a brand-new site with an upgraded playground for these two classrooms," said Cathy McIntosh, family partnerships specialist. "We welcome everyone to come and see our new location."

Head Start offers individualized teaching; dental, vision, speech, hearing and developmental screenings; parent involvement; and nutritious snacks and meals. Children with disabilities are welcome.

For more information about the open house or the Head Start program, please contact the center at 217-732-3448 or visit www.ciedc.org.

CIEDC, a Community Action agency, operates the Head Start program in DeWitt, Fulton, Logan, Mason, Menard and Piatt counties, serving 338 children and families through a high-quality preschool program. CIEDC also provides other services to low-income and senior individuals throughout the six-county service area.
