[November 17, 2007]  MINIER -- Christmas festivities Dec. 1 begin with a stroll at 1 p.m. and the traditional parade at 2 p.m. The theme is "A Cowboy Christmas."

See Santa and his elves as they go through the streets of downtown Minier, along with marching bands, decorated horses, antique cars and tractors, floats, and many other proud parade participants.

The stroll resumes at 4:30, following the parade.

Hot cider and kettle corn will be served on Main Street to keep you warm during the festivities.

Before and after the parade, linger to enjoy a variety of old-fashioned holiday entertainment, including a VIP reception, Santa Claus and entertainment at the firehouse.

There will be a vendor fair at the old pharmacy on Main Street. Shop for those on your Christmas list from a variety of local crafters and home-based businesses. Support local fundraising organizations as well as local businesses that will exhibit and sell from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The annual tree lighting and carol sing will be at 4:30 at Veterans Park. Following the tree lighting, prize winners will be announced in various categories.
