[November 21, 2007]  The Lincoln Christian College Preachers beat the Soldiers from St. Louis Christian College 75-64 at the Laughlin Center on Tuesday evening. The Preachers are now 3-2.

Coach Matt Clark credited a solid defense and making free throws down the stretch as the keys to the game. Clark said, "Our goal is to hold opponents to 35 points or less each half, and for the first time this season we were able to accomplish that goal."

David O'Malley made 6-of-7 free throws in the last minute and 18 seconds to protect the Preachers' lead.

After Lincoln led 7-2 early in the game, St. Louis took an 8-7 lead. After recovering the lead at 13-12, the Preachers did not trail for the rest of the first half. With LCC leading 32-29 at halftime, St. Louis outscored LCC 7-2 to take a 36-34 lead. LCC ran off the next 10 unanswered points and did not trail again in the game.

Adam Everett led the offense with 23 points. Jon Wallace and Landan Callahan added 17 and 13, respectively. O'Malley helped the Preachers to a 35-33 rebound margin by gathering in 12.
