Pitching Focus of Maple Leaf Baseball Clinic

[November 27, 2007]  GENESEO -- The second annual Maple Leaf Baseball Clinic will take place at the Geneseo High School Indoor Practice Facility on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Guest speakers and their topics:

  • Colorado Rockies bullpen coach Rick Mathews -- "Pitching That REALLY Works"

  • Casey Fisk, baseball and conditioning instructor for The Launching Pad in Michigan and son of legendary major leaguer Carlton Fisk -- "Strength and Conditioning for Baseball" and "Immediate Improvement Strategies"

  • Eastern Illinois University head coach Jim Schmitz -- "Dynamic Indoor Offensive Practices"

  • Indian Hills Community College assistant coach Jonathan Mathews -- "Eliminating the Big Inning: Championship Bunt Defense"

  • St. Ambrose assistant coach Tony Huntley
    -- "Infield Drill Work"

Advance registration is $45 ($35 per coach for three or more from the same district or school), and the cost at the door is $55. All checks should be made out to "Maple Leaf Coaching Clinic." Six sessions and lunch are included in the price, and there will be exhibitors as well with several raffle prizes.
