[November 27, 2007]  MINIER -- Christmas is coming and all trails lead to Main Street for "A Cowboy Christmas" on Saturday. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. with the stroll, followed at 2 p.m. by the parade. Don't miss a minute of the fun and activities. Hot cider and kettle corn will be served on Main Street to keep you warm.

Enjoy "A Cowboy Christmas" as Santa and his elves gallop down Main Street along with the Marching Spartan Band, antique cars and tractors, bedecked horses, and fabulous floats. Grand marshal Susie Smith will "head 'em up and lead 'em out" at 2 p.m.

Before and after the parade, linger to enjoy a variety of old-fashioned holiday entertainment, including a VIP reception, a visit with Santa Claus and entertainment at the fire station.

The Christmas Stroll will resume following the parade until 4:30 p.m. Local businesses will be open. A vendor fair at the old pharmacy building on Main Street will serve as an old-time general store for your holiday shopping needs. The vendors will offer a variety of products from local crafters and home-based businesses. Support local fundraising organizations as well as local businesses who will exhibit their wares from 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m., gather at Veterans Park for the annual tree lighting and carol singalong. Following the lighting, prize winners will be announced in various categories.

Cap off the evening with a hearty soup supper served at St. John United Church of Christ. Serving begins at 5:30 p.m., and all proceeds will benefit the Minier Relay for Life.

Rope in this fun-filled day and giddyup on down to Main Street in Minier on Saturday.
